 Jonathan Toews-C - Blackhawks Nov. 21 - 6:31 am et

Jonathan Toews has really improved in face off draws.
Toews was weak in the playoffs last season on the draw, but the 21-year-old star worked hard at it and is now second in the NHL at 62.8 percent, with the Sabres Paul Gaustad leading. Toews has recovered nicely from a concussion he suffered earlier in the season and the Blackhawks are a perfect 5-0 since his return. Toews is a fantasy gem at his tender age. He is a star now and will be a superstar in the NHL for years to come.

The Chicago Blackhawks are trying to work out some salary cap issues before they can make the contract extensions of Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Duncan Keith final.
The team needs to work out available tagging space for next season to get these new deals under their cap, so a trade may have to be worked out before the contracts are officially announced. The Hawks are reportedly shopping Brent Sopel and his $2.33 million cap hit for this year and next season, but that could be a difficult sale. Stay tuned.

 Marian Hossa-W - Blackhawks Nov. 18 - 10:04 am et

Marian Hossa (off-season shoulder surgery) practiced on the first line with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews on Tuesday.
However, coach Joel Quenneville would not commit to saying that the trio will play together when Hossa is cleared to make his Hawks' debut during the team's six-game road trip. "It's something we tried (Tuesday)," said the Chicago head coach. "As we go along and get a little closer maybe we'll put him on the line where we think (he's) going to be."

The Chicago Blackhawks are thought to be in the final stages of signing Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and defenseman Duncan Keith to contract extensions.
According to TSN, Toews and Kane are expected to ink five-year deals worth $6 million per season, while Keith's contract will be 13 years in length at a slightly less money. Stay tuned.

Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane skated together for parts of Sunday's game versus San Jose.
Patrick Sharp rounded out the threesome for much of the night. "I think it worked pretty good," Toews said. "We had a few chances early on with Sharpie and then they took us apart for a little while there, but if we have the opportunity to be together, us three, I think we'll create quite a bit." The trio was put together mostly because of an upper-body injury to Kris Versteeg, but he is expected to return to the Chicago lineup on Thursday. They would certainly like to stay together, but whether that happens or not is unclear at this time.
