DOB: 10/1/1981

CONTRACT INFO: Cap Hit: $3.5 million. Details
 Johnny Oduya-D- ThrashersFeb. 6 - 9:21 am et
Newly-acquired Johnny Oduya received plenty of ice time in his Atlanta debut Friday night.
The 29-year-old defenseman, who was paired with Ron Hainsey, was minus one in 20:38 of playing time. Oduya was pretty much used by the Thrashers as he was by the Devils--lots of five on five play, no power-play opportunities. For that reason, his fantasy value is virtually zero.

 Johnny Oduya-D - Thrashers Feb. 4 - 8:33 pm et

The Atlanta Thrashers have acquired the Devils' 2010 first and second round draft picks, Johnny Oduya, Niclas Bergfors, and Patrice Cormier from the New Jersey Devils for Ilya Kovalchuk, Anssi Salmela and the Thrashers' 2010 second round draft pick.
Oduya signed a three-year/$10.5 million contract in the off-season, but things haven't gone as planned. After recording 26 and 29 points in his previous two seasons, Oduya has just two goals and four points in 40 games this season. The Thrashers are probably hoping that a change of scenery will snap him out of his season long funk, but Oduya has no fantasy value at this time.

Johnny Oduya collected just his third point on the season Wednesday.
While he's never been an offensive guru, Oduya did have seven goals and 29 points last season, which was second best among New Jersey defenders behind Paul Martin. Oduya did miss a month with a groin injury, but he just isn't the same player he was last year.

 Brian Rolston-W - Devils Jan. 27 - 10:49 pm et

Brian Rolston scored the only New Jersey goal in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Sabres Wednesday night.
Rolston's tally raises his total to 16 on the season, snapping a six-game pointless streak for the veteran center. Johnny Oduya assisted on the goal

The Devils certainly didn't get their money's worth out of Johnny Oduya in the first half of the season.
After Oduya finished 2008-09 with seven goals, 29 points and a plus-21 plus/minus rating, the Devils inked him to a three-year/$10.5 million contract. However, Oduya has battled through injuries this season and has been ineffective even when he's healthy. He has just one point and a minus-one plus/minus rating in 25 games in 2009-10. "I think I had a tough start. Then, with the injury, I didn’t get going the way I wanted," Oduya said. "The last couple of games wasn’t really the standard I want to play at. But it’s a long season." He's worth keeping an eye on in the second half but he has no fantasy value at this time.

 Johnny Oduya-D - Thrashers Dec. 6 - 11:50 am et

Johnny Oduya scored in his return to the lineup Saturday.
Oduya missed almost a month with a groin injury. It was his first point of the season, after going pointless through the first 11 games of the season. Oduya had seven goals and 29 points last season and emerged as an offensive threat in the second half - perhaps that pattern will repeat itself this year. Keep an eye on him.
