The Bruins returned winger Miikko Lehtonen to Providence of the AHL Friday afternoon.
He was recalled on an emergency basis due to the number of injuries the Bruins were dealingwith. However, Lehtonen will not be needed this weekend as Byron Bitz is ready to return to action.

Mikko Lehtonen has been recalled on an emergency basis.
Lehtonen scored three goals and registered seven assists in 11 AHL games this season. He isn't expected to have any fantasy value in 2009-10.

Patrice Bergeron will miss Sunday's season finale against the Islanders due to a foot injury.
He missed Saturday's contest against Buffalo with the same problem and Mikko Lehtonen took his place in the lineup. Look for Lehtonen to dress in Bergeron's place again Sunday.

Mikko Lehtonen will probably make his NHL debut in Saturday's game against the Buffalo Sabres.
Lehtonen is expected to help fill the void left by Patrice Bergeron, who is sidelined with a mild foot injury. He scored 28 goals and 53 points in 72 games with the AHL Providence Bruins this season.

Mikko Lehtonen has been called up by the Boston Bruins.
Boston selected Lehtonen with the 83rd overall pick in the 2005 entry draft. He might make his NHL debut on Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres.
