Alexei Kovalev will go back to Russia after Thursday's game for the funeral of his mother-in-law.
Our condolences to the family of Kovalev's wife. The Senators play Saturday against Buffalo and Monday against the Capitals, so he will miss at least Saturday's game and possibly Monday. Stay tuned.

Mike Fisher scored twice to lead the Senators to a 3-2 victory over the Maple Leafs Tuesday night.
Fisher upped his goal count to nine. The Sens also got a goal from Milan Michalek while Alex Kovalev and Chris Campoli both picked up two assists.

Mike Fisher has performed extremely well for the Senators this season.
The loss of Dany Heatley opened a hole in the Ottawa offense and Fisher has done a great job of filling that void for the team. He has five goals and 11 points in 12 games this season compared to a year ago when he scored his fifth goal on Jan. 17 and earned his 10th and 11th points on Dec. 20. Fisher is currently skating on the Senators' top line between Alex Kovalev and Daniel Alfredsson and he is seeing plenty of power-play time as well.

Alexei Kovalev scored one of two Ottawa goals in a 5-2 loss to Tampa Thursday night.
It wasn't a great effort by the Sens who were outshot 27-23 and fell behind 5-0 before scoring two late goals. Jarkko Ruutu notched Ottawa's other goal.

Alexei Kovalev had a goal and an assist in Ottawa's 3-1 win over Montreal Saturday.
It was Kovalev's first game against his former team. Chris Neal and Daniel Alfredsson had Ottawa's two other goals. Jarkko Ruutu had picked up ten penalty minutes in the win.

Alexei Kovalev will return to Montreal for the first time since he signed with the Senators in the off-season.
It will be interesting to see what kind of reception Kovalev, a former Montreal crowd pleaser, gets from the Habs' fans. We are guessing Kovalev comes to play Saturday night and scores at least one goal against his former team.
