 Sami Lepisto-D - Coyotes Oct. 30 - 7:48 am et

Sami Lepisto has impressed the Phoenix Coyotes with his play.
The 24-year-old defenseman was dealt from Washington in the off-season and has a couple of assists in 11 games this season. "I didn't know a lot about Sami before he came here," coach Dave Tippett said. "He's got good agility on his skates, good quickness. His puck play is pretty good. He makes good simple little plays. He's not a big guy, but he's a very competitive guy. So he's been a very pleasant surprise for us. Lepisto has some offensive potential, but has concentrated on the defensive aspects of the game since his recall from the minors on Oct. 7. He is a better hockey player than fantasy option at this stage of his career although he did manage 42 points in 70 AHL games last season.

 Sami Lepisto-D - Coyotes Sep. 27 - 8:39 am et

New Phoenix coach Sami Lepisto likes the play of defenseman Sami Lepisto thus far.
Lepisto is on the bubble to make the team as the seventh defenseman after being traded from Washington in June. "He's a player that I think a change in organization might do him some good,Tippett said. "He's been a very good player in the American league (AHL), a few games in the NHL, but from what I've seen of him here, I like the way he plays." The 24-year-old Lepisto had four assists in seven NHL games last season to go along with the 42 points in 70 game with Hershey of the AHL. Lepisto has some offensive upside. He is a waiver wire pick at this time but keep an eye on him.

 Sami Lepisto-D - Coyotes Jun. 27 - 7:23 pm et

The Washington Capitals traded Sami Lepisto to the Phoenix Coyotes for their fifth round pick in the 2010 entry draft.
Lepisto had four assists in seven NHL games last season. He's had considerable success as an offensive defenseman in the AHL with 42 points in 70 games last season. He might earn a permanent roster spot with the Phoenix Coyotes next season and is worth keeping an eye on in training camp.
