The Phoenix Coyotes have recalled Mikkel Boedker from San Antonio of the AHL.
Boedker played ten games earlier this season with the Coyotes and managed only two assists. He had four goals and 13 points in 34 AHL games but the Coyotes eighth overall selection in the 2008 Entry Draft has played better of late. "He's one of those young guys that played a lot of the year here last year, came in this year, thinking this is just another step in the process in the NHL, and you find yourself not in NHL, it's hard to take," coach Dave Tippett said. "It's taken him a while to come around, and each time he's come back for short stints, he's been a little better, so we hope he can jump in and give us a spark right now." Boedker has a lot of offensive upside but just turned 20, so fantasy owners just have to be patient with him. Source: Arizona Republic/Phoenix Gazette
