Just an FYI. He was called up in case Dan Boyle could not play on Wednesday, but he did.

Joe Callahan has been called up to the NHL by the San Jose Sharks.
Sharks coach Todd McLellan isn't sure what role Callahan will play, so for now he should just be viewed as the team's seventh defenseman. Dan Boyle (foot) expects to play in Wednesday's game, but if he's held out at the last minute, Callahan will probably help fill the void.

Joe Callahan was called up from the minors on Thursday November 5.
Callahan assisted on the lone San Jose goal. He played only 9:34 minutes on Thursday against the Red Wings. Callahan was recalled when the Sharks placed Rob Blake on the injured reserve list with an upper body injury. Don't expect much offensively from Callahan and as a result we recommend you do not pick him up in fantasy pools.

He will play in Worcester for the Sharks AHL affiliate. Callahan appeared in 18 games with the Islanders last season, earning two assists and a plus-5 rating. He has no fantasy value.

Callahan played 18 games with the New York Islanders last year picking up two assists. He has no fantasy value.
