 Marc Savard-C - Bruins Nov. 20 - 10:00 am et

Marc Savard (foot) is close to returning to the lineup.
The cast on his broken foot was removed last week and he practiced hard on Thursday, but he's doubtful for Friday. A more likely return is some time next week. Savard is also reportedly close to signing a contract extension with the Bruins shortly. The latest rumor has Savard signing a seven-year deal worth $39 million. An announcement is expected in the next week or two.

Marc Savard (foot) skated in the morning practice but is doubtful tonight.
Savard is close to returning as Thursday marks the one month point since he broke his foot. Savard is better than a point a game player who chips in with penalty minutes and is a must start once he returns to the Boston lineup.

Marc Savard (foot) was on the ice for 20 minutes prior to Tuesday's practice.
It was the first time Savard had skated since he broke his foot on October 19th. The next step is for him to participate in a full practice on Wednesday and if all goes well, there's a chance he'll play on Thursday. "I could go, it depends how I feel in practice," Savard said. "I have to get a good skate in and be back out there with the boys. I mean, I don’t want to rush things. I do not think we do as a staff, but if it comes to it maybe I can play. I’m ready to go and if I practice well it will be Claude’s decision." We'll keep you posted.

Marc Savard will sign a contract extension with the Bruins, according to the Boston Globe.
Savard is due to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Globe says the deal may be completed by Thanksgiving. The Bruins have struggled without him due to his broken foot, which makes the extension that much more obvious. If he can get the contract signed while he's still injured, he can come back without any distractions and concentrate on hockey. Stay tuned.
