Olli Jokinen was traded to the New York Rangers late on Monday night, with forward Brandon Prust, in exchange for Christopher Higgins and Ales Kotalik.
The deal was rumored to be near completion on Sunday, but it was finalized just after the Flames' 3-0 loss to the Flyers on Monday. Jokinen did not perform up to expectations in Calgary and he never meshed with captain Jarome Iginla like the team had hoped. He has registered 11 goals and 35 points in 56 games this season. Perhaps, Jokinen will have better luck clicking with Rangers' star winger Marian Gaborik, should he get a chance to play alongside him. Source: TSN.ca
