Zdeno Chara scored his first goal since January 13 in a 3-2 shootout loss to Vancouver.
It was Chara's fourth goal of the season. Michael Ryder had the other Bruin goal. Marc Savard assisted on both goals.

Zdeno Chara is playing with a broken pinkie finger.
He suffered the injury way back on November 20 and has it taped to his ring finger with a splint when he plays. That is the primary reason why Chara has just four goals this season after racking up 19 last year. He's basically playing with three fingers. He said he'll need surgery to fix it, but that won't happen until the season's over.

Milan Lucic scored the Bruins' lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Buffalo Friday night.
The tally was just the third of the season for Lucic, who has struggled mightily for the Bruins this season. The rugged winger has eight points in 20 games, struggling with injuries and inconsistencies just one year removed from a 17-goal, 42-point season. Marc Savard and Zdeno Chara assisted on the marker.

The Bruins are scheduled to open next year's regular season in Prague, Czech Republic, according to a Boston Herald report.
Zdeno Chara is a Slovakia native and David Krejci and Vladimir Sobotka are from the Czech Republic. There's no word on who the Bruins would play in those first two games of the regular season.

Dan Paille scored his fifth goal in regulation, with help from Shawn Thornton.

A light dusting of snow is forecast for today's Winter Classic at Fenway Park.
About an inch of snow fell in Boston Thursday night and the odd flurry is expected throughout the day. It looks like the outdoor game will not be rained out, as was thought as recently as Thursday.
