Orlando GM Otis Smith said he's "not necessarily sure that's going to happen" when asked about Gilbert Arenas joining the Magic in the future.
Smith was in Golden State's front office when the Warriors drafted Arenas and he has served as a mentor to Arenas ever since. Arenas has reportedly said that he wants to continue his career in Orlando, but there are plenty of legal and NBA issues to resolve before we can even think about that.

Wizards' president Ernie Grunfeld has not ruled out voiding the contract of Gilbert Arenas, which would probably not be well received by the players' union,
"We’re still exploring all our options," Grunfeld said. "We haven’t made any decisions up to this point. We’re seeing what we can do." Executive director of the player's union, Billy Hunter, warned the union "will respond aggressively to any improper attempt by the team to impose additional penalties," meaning this mess is probably far from over.

David Stern has suspended Gilbert Arenas for the remainder of the season.
Arenas reportedly agreed not to appeal the suspension for this season in order to prevent Stern from handing down an 82-game suspension that would continue into next year. The league has officially announced Arenas' suspension, meaning that it's time to decisively cut him loose in non-keeper leagues.

Michael Lee of the Washington Post reports that "A person familiar with today's meeting between Gilbert Arenas and NBA Commissioner David Stern" has indicated that Arenas will be suspended for the remainder of the season.
In an odd subplot, Lee's source also indicated that Arenas requested to be suspended for the remainder of the year. We're not exactly sure why that is, but it may have something to do with the fact that Arenas has "no desire to play for Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld again," according to Lee's report. If you've held onto Arenas this long you may want to wait until the league office makes its official announcement, but at this point his fate seems quite clear.

 Javaris Crittenton-G - Wizards Jan. 25 - 1:52 pm et

Gun charges have been filed against Javaris Crittenton in an apparent plea deal.
Crittenton was charged Monday with two misdemeanors -- possession of an unregistered firearm and attempted carrying a pistol without a license. Crittenton will likely join Gilbert Arenas in a lengthy suspension that should be announced later this week.
