Elijah Dukes will "definitely" enter spring training as the Nationals' starting right fielder, according to manager Jim Riggleman.
"Physically, he's feeling very well," Riggleman said. "That's big. He's a big strong guy, and we need to put him out there everyday." Dukes hit only .250/.337/.393 over 416 at-bats in 2009, but had a 127 OPS+ in 334 plate appearances the year before and has a reservoir of untapped potential. He could be a 2010 fantasy sleeper. |
