Ronnie Belliard's one-year, $825,000 contract with the Dodgers is not guaranteed, according to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times.
Belliard's agent, according to Hernandez, denied that the contract would become guaranteed if Belliard reported to camp at 209 pounds or less, but did say that the club has requested that he do so. If he makes the team, Belliard could take home another $250,000 with incentives based on plate appearances.

Dodgers signed 2B Ronnie Belliard to a one-year, $825,000 contract.
He could take home another $250,000 with incentives based on plate appearances. Belliard, who turns 35 in April, thrived after being acquired by the Dodgers last August, ultimately taking the starting second base job away from Orlando Hudson. Blake DeWitt could have a say at second base before all is said and done, but he better be prepared for another tripe aboard the Albuquerque-to-Los Angeles Express.

Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports that the Dodgers have signed second baseman Ronnie Belliard to a one-year, $825,000 contract.
He can earn an additional $250,000 in incentives based on plate appearances. It's a good match, although it would deny Blake DeWitt a chance at second base. Belliard, who turns 35 in April, batted .351/.398/.636 with five home runs and 17 RBI in 77 at-bats down the stretch with the Dodgers last season, becoming Joe Torre's preferred option at second base over Orlando Hudson during the postseason.

The Dodgers did not offer arbitration to any of their free agents.
This group includes Type A's Randy Wolf and Orlando Hudson and Type B's Guillermo Mota, Jon Garland, Ronnie Belliard, Vicente Padilla, and Will Ohman. Why the Dodgers didn't offer Wolf arbitration, we'll never understand, but it could shed some light on their financial situation. Either way, Wolf and Hudson have instantly become more attractive to prospective ballclubs.
 Akinori Iwamura-2B - Pirates Oct. 26 - 8:53 am et

According to Patrick Newman of NPB Tracker, Akinori Iwamura could be a possibility for the Dodgers.
Newman cites a Sanspo.com report that says the Rays would likely pick up his $4.85 million option for 2010, then move him to Los Angeles, or another team, in a potential sign-and-trade. Though the contract is a bit of gamble, the Dodgers will have a void to fill at second base with Ronnie Belliard and Orlando Hudson about to hit the open market. Iwamura has a .281/.354/.393 over three seasons in the majors. He was limited to just 69 games in 2009 after tearing his ACL in May.

The Dodgers have moved Ronnie Belliard from seventh to second in the lineup for Sunday's game.
Andre Ethier, Manny Ramirez and Matt Kemp have each been moved down one spot to make room for Belliard, who has gone 3-for-8 through two games of the NLCS. The best-of-seven series is tied 1-1.
