Free agent right-hander Braden Looper told FOXSports.com on Monday that he would like to pitch for the Cubs in 2010.
"That would be appealing," he said. "You've got to see what your options are. I don't know if they're looking for a starting pitcher, since they have a new owner. But I'm living in Chicago, and I've got three kids in school here, so that would be nice." Looper went 14-7 with a 5.22 ERA in 34 starts this year. It's not clear if the Cubs want him, but he should come cheap. Source: FOXSports.com
