Willie Bloomquist underwent successful arthroscopic surgery Friday on both of his knees.
Reliever Roman Colon also had a similar procedure completed on his right knee. The 31-year-old Bloomquist had a career-high 468 plate appearances last season, which isn't necessarily a great thing for the Royals when he's posting a career-high .663 OPS. He'll be ready by Spring Training.

Willie Bloomquist went 3-for-4 with a triple, a homer and three RBI to lead the Royals past the Tigers 4-3 on Monday night.
Bloomquist had tallied just one extra-base hit in his past 20 games and hadn't homered since May 2. Tonight marks the first time he's collected multiple extra-baggers hits in a game since (wait for it)... July 6, 2005.

Willie Bloomquist went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a walk Saturday in the Royals' 7-4 win over the Reds.
Bloomquist has been a valuable player for the Royals, but it was pretty much all against lefties. Tonight's three hits came versus righties, raising his average against them from .210 to .239. That helped the Royals win back-to-back games for the first time since May 17-19.
 Coco Crisp-OF - Athletics May. 29 - 7:53 pm et

Coco Crisp (shoulder) wasn't in the Royals starting lineup Friday.
Crisp injured his shoulder Wednesday and missed Thursday's game as well. Willie Bloomquist started at center and at leadoff in Crisp's absence, who's listed as day-to-day.
