According to SNY's Kevin Burkhardt, Jose Reyes (hamstring) sprinted 90 feet five times in a row during a workout on Long Island on Monday.
"That’s how I do it," Reyes said. "I’m ready to play baseball." It's some rare good news for Mets fans, but it could also boost his showing in fantasy drafts. Reyes hasn't experienced any setbacks since undergoing surgery to repair his right hamstring tendon in October and looks to be on track for spring training. Owners should expect a few less steals, but he's still one of the top shortstops available if healthy.

David Lennon of New York Newsday reports that shortstop Jose Reyes (hamstring) said he will be running full-speed again by January of 2010.
Reyes hasn't experienced any pain since undergoing surgery to repair his torn right hamstring tendon in October. The 26-year-old shortstop was limited to just 36 games in 2009, batting .279/.355/.395 with two home runs, 15 RBI and 11 stolen bases. He should enter next season with a lot to prove.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post says the Mets are fully confident Jose Reyes (hamstring) will be ready by the start of spring training.
Reyes ditched his crutches in early November and began running lightly a few days ago. The 26-year-old shortstop missed most of the 2009 season with a torn right hamstring tendon, but is hoping for a big rebound in 2010. He's sure to drop in drafts this year and is shaping up as a quality sleeper.

 Alex Cora-SS - Mets Nov. 30 - 5:22 pm et

Mets re-signed Alex Cora to a one-year, $2 million contract.
It is the same salary that he earned in 2009, when he hit .251 while playing in 82 games. Cora has the potential to earn $1 million more in incentives. The contract also includes a $2 million option for 2011 that becomes guaranteed if he makes about 80 starts next season. Last season, Cora became the regular shortstop after Jose Reyes was injured, starting 54 games at the position before being shut down in mid-August with season-ending surgery to repair torn ligaments in both thumbs.

Jose Reyes (hamstring) is walking freely without crutches.
"He’s not 100%, obviously, at this point, but he looks great," said his agent Chris Leible. Reyes underwent surgery to repair a torn right hamstring tendon in October. Barring any unforeseen setbacks, the 26-year-old shortstop is expected to be fully recovered in time for the start of the spring training.

 Jose Reyes-SS - Mets Oct. 15 - 12:30 pm et

Jose Reyes underwent successful surgery Thursday morning to repair his torn right hamstring tendon.
The procedure was designed to clear up scar tissue behind the shortstop's right knee. Reyes is expected to begin rehab shortly and should be able to resume baseball activities in early January. As long as he avoids too many setbacks, he'll be fine for the start of spring training.
