Manager Mike Scioscia said that he would consider bringing back John Lackey on three day's rest if a deciding Game 7 is pushed back to Monday due to rain.
"If there is an opportunity to look at bringing a guy like John back, it's something we would certainly consider," said Scioscia. "We have talked about a lot of different scenarios. I think we're going to let this thing unfold a little bit and see how the weekend goes." There are a lot of "ifs" at work here, however Lackey pitched on three day's rest in Game 7 of the 2002 World Series against the Giants, earning the victory with five innings of one-run ball. Phillies fans wouldn't complain with a Game 7 matchup of CC Sabathia and Lackey. Jered Weaver is also a candidate to start a potential deciding game. Source: MLB.com
