B.J. Upton hit for the cycle in a win over the Yankees on Friday night.
Upton is the first ever Rays player to ever hit for the cycle. He tripled in the first, doubled in the third, homered in the fourth and singled to complete the cycle in the fifth. It was the second fastest cycle ever. Mike Lansing accomplished the feat through four innings in 2000. Upton finished the night 5-for-5 with six RBI and three runs scored. The five hits tied a career-high. Hampered by injury and ineffectiveness, 2009 has been a major disappointment, but nights like this show why he's such a tremendous talent.
