Ricky Romero allowed four runs in seven innings but struck out eight Orioles in a no-decision today.
Romero gave up three walks and five hits, but one of the hits was a two-run homer by Nick Markakis. Romero was excellent out of the gate for the Jays and strong again in June after returning from an oblique injury. However, his 5.54 ERA and 72/49 K/BB after the All-Star break wasn't nearly as impressive and his final tally is a 4.30 ERA and 1.52 WHIP as a result.

Ricky Romero held the Red Sox to two runs over five innings in an 8-7 win on Tuesday night.
The win broke a two-game personal losing streak. Romero scattered seven hits while fanning three and walking just one. Tuesday marked the first time since July 27 that he walked only one batter in a game. The rookie southpaw is now 13-9 with a 4.26 ERA over 28 starts this season.

Ricky Romero surrendered four runs in six innings to take a loss versus the Tigers on Sunday.
Romero gave up 10 hits and three walks while also hitting a batter, so pitching well with runners on base was necessary to keep the outing to just four runs. Romero started off the year quite strong, but his 4.96 ERA since the start of July leaves much to be desired. He'll get the Rays next time out.

Ricky Romero improved to 12-7 on the year, allowing three runs over 6 2/3 innings in a 6-3 win over the Twins on Tuesday night.
It looked like Romero would leave with his third straight loss, but the Jays scored six runs in sixth to put him in line for the win. He allowed seven hits while walking three and fanning four, improving his K/BB ratio to 115/65 in 147 2/3 innings this season. Romero is now tied with Rick Porcello and Jeff Niemann for the most wins among AL rookies.

Ricky Romero was touched up by the Yankees for seven runs -- five earned -- over 4 1/3 innings on Thursday night.
Romero was victimized by a patient New York lineup, issuing a career-high six walks and seeing five of those walked batters come around to score. After a strong first half, Romero has posted a 6.00 ERA and 42-to-32 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 10 starts since the All-Star break.
 Marc Rzepczynski-S - Blue Jays Sep. 2 - 9:02 am et

Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston said Tuesday that his 2010 rotation is set.
Of course, a lot can happen between now and April 2010: "Well you've got Roy Halladay -- if he stays," Gaston said. "Shaun Marcum, Ricky Romero, Brett Cecil and Marc Rzepczynski. Maybe in May or June Jesse Litsch comes back. And if we move Roy Halladay we'll get a starter back." Rzepczynski struck out nine Tuesday in his final start of the 2009 season.
