 Zydrunas Ilgauskas-C- CavaliersFeb. 9 - 9:43 pm et
Zydrunas Ilgauskas had a rough night off the bench on Tuesday, making just 1-of-10 field goals for two points.
Big Z did add six rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes, while starter Shaquille O'Neal had seven points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks. This was a surprisingly decent showdown between the team with the NBA's worst record and the team with the best record, but the Cavs (led by LeBron's 32 points and 11 assists) eventually took control.

LeBron James scored 35 points in 19 minutes during the first half of Saturday's game vs. New York, then cruised to a huge night -- 47 points (17-of-31 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), six 3-pointers, eight rebounds, eight assists and five steals.
LeBron scored 24 consecutive points for Cleveland at one point, a ridiculous streak during which he made 10-of-11 shots, including four 3-pointers. The King keeps one-upping himself, and we expect the heroics to continue as long as Mo Williams is out.

A memo has been released detailing the NBA owners' demands for the next collective bargaining agreement -- they seek a reduction in current salaries and maximum contracts, as well as a "hard salary cap," not unlike what the NFL has in place.
Currently, the NBA has a "soft" salary cap that can be exceeded under certain "exceptions." The owners' demands could increase the likelihood of a lockout following the 2010-11 season, and it virtually guarantees that all big-name free agents will opt out this summer. Stay tuned.

 LeBron James-F - Cavaliers Feb. 4 - 11:35 pm et

LeBron James started at point guard for the first time since his rookie season with Daniel Gibson (personal) out on Thursday, and finished with 36 points on 9-of-16 shooting (1-of-4 from downtown, 17-of-21 from the foul line) with seven rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.
We were expecting some eye-popping assist totals, but they never came, and by halftime Daniel Gibson was back from tending to his pregnant fiancee at the hospital. It was just another day at office for LBJ, who powered his team to a 102-86 win over the Heat, and likely gained some MVP votes in this one.
 Daniel Gibson-G - Cavaliers Feb. 4 - 7:52 pm et

Daniel Gibson will not play in Thursday's game against the Heat for personal reasons, and Jawad Williams will start in his place with LeBron James handling point guard duties.
The Cavs will not start a player under 6'6" tonight, so in theory Rafer Alston should be able to get inside the lane. Look for a big game from LBJ, and Cavs beat writer Brian Windhorst says Danny Green will get extended playing time, but we wouldn't run to the wire based on that info. As of now, Delonte West will not be activated, giving owners a clue about his status.

 LeBron James-F - Cavaliers Feb. 2 - 9:45 pm et

LeBron James tied a career-high with 15 assists in the Cavs' 105-89 win over the Grizzlies on Tuesday, and finished with 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds, a steal, and a block.
Nothing really surprises us with him anymore. In fact, the only thing that surprises us are some of the bad trade offers we get for him. Unless you're getting two bonafide studs in return, don't even entertain the thought of getting rid of him.
