The Cavaliers are entrenched in their position in trade talks -- they are willing to take on long-term salary, but won't easily give up promising PF J.J. Hickson or their upcoming first-round draft pick.
The Cavs are in a solid position as one of just a few teams looking to add pieces -- most teams are desperate to shed payroll. Expect plenty of rumors to crop up as we enter the final week before the Feb. 18 deadline.

J.J. Hickson got hot early and hit 8-of-10 shots for a career-high 23 points to go along with eight rebounds and a block in Wednesday's easy win over the Wolves.
We've seen Hickson do this before and it usually happens when he hits a bunch of shots early. He was scoreless in his last game, but had 11 points and 14 boards in the previous one. Keep an eye on him in deep leagues. With Hickson hot and the score lopsided, LeBron James had just 12 points, but also had 11 assists for another double-double.

J.J. Hickson was scoreless (0-of-4 shooting) with one rebound in 13 minutes on Monday.
He was averaging 10 points and 11.5 rebounds in the past two games but (as this line indicates) he remains an unreliable option most nights. Meanwhile, Anderson Varejao had 13 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 36 minutes off the bench.

J.J. Hickson grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds on Thursday, and added 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting to go with an assist in 25 minutes of action.
This is a good game for him, but we're not running to the waiver wires unless something happens to Anderson Varejeo (11 points, eight rebounds, 23 minutes tonight), whose two big free throws sealed the game.

Troy Murphy joined Antawn Jamison as a potential trade target for the Cavaliers, as the Cavs are concerned about the Wizards' willingness to pull the trigger on a Jamison deal.
By expressing their interest in Murphy they may be trying to force the Wizards' hand, who undoubtedly want to wait while other teams join the Jamison trade talks. The Cavs would likely have to part with both Zydrunas Ilgauskas and J.J. Hickson to make either deal work.

J.J. Hickson was pulled from Wednesday's win over the Kings, getting serious coaching on the sidelines, but playing just 18 minutes.
He had six points and three boards, but there's a chance he could lose his starting job to Anderson Varejao soon. If you own him, think about dumping him for a hot free agent.
