Rodney Harrison officially announced his retirement and hire by NBC Sports Wednesday morning.
The NY Daily News also reports that Tony Dungy will join Harrison on Football Night in America. Jerome Bettis' contract expired. The only player ever with over 30 career sacks and 30 interceptions, Harrison won two Super Bowls with the Patriots as the ultimate "in the box safety." His unpopularity with players around the league will greatly hurt his longshot Hall of Fame chances. He was only voted to two Pro Bowls, and the number should have been closer to six.

Free agent Rodney Harrison is expected to announce his retirement from football on Wednesday, according to the Boston Herald.
He'll also be introduced as part of of NBC's broadcast team. The Patriots moved on from Harrison by drafting Patrick Chung with the 34th overall pick. Brandon Meriweather is New England's new full-time starting strong safety.

Rodney Harrison is expected to address his football future during a conference call Tuesday.
Harrison had targeted June 1 as his decision day. The Patriots have moved on without him, and it's believed that Harrison will retire to pursue a career in broadcasting.

The Patriots appear to have "moved on" from free agent Rodney Harrison.
Harrison has yet to decide if he wants to continue playing, but the Pats' offseason moves at safety could make his decision easier. The team recently signed hard-hitting safety Brandon McGowan after drafting Patrick Chung, leaving them with five safeties in a crowded field.

Free agent SS Rodney Harrison will decide whether to keep playing or retire by June 1.
Harrison's recovery from a torn quadriceps is going well, but conventional wisdom has him retiring to take on a career in television. It's been reported that the Falcons are interested if he does decide to continue his playing career.

The Boston Globe suggests that free agent Rodney Harrison could be an option for the Falcons.
Harrison is an Atlanta native and GM Tom Dimitroff knows him from their New England days, but the Falcons just rid themselves of a similar player in Lawyer Milloy. Thomas DeCoud is the club's starting strong safety for now.
