According to Ravens beat writer Mike Preston, 2009 was "likely" Willis McGahee's last season in Baltimore.
If so, McGahee went out on a high note. His 5.0 yards-per-carry average and 14 all-purpose scores were both career bests. The Ravens may ask McGahee to take a pay cut, but he'd be smart to refuse. He'll be the most sought-after tailback on the unrestricted free agent market this spring.

Ray Rice would "definitely love to see" Willis McGahee back in Baltimore next season, and hopes the Ravens keep the tandem together.
McGahee has been "a great teammate, a great friend," said Rice. "What he's meant for me is everything. He battled through adversity and is still a great back in this league." While Rice's lobbying for his teammate is refreshingly unselfish, his Dynasty owners wish he would keep his thoughts to himself. McGahee is due $3.6M in 2010.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh admitted Tuesday that Willis McGahee's 2010 salary of $3.6 million could be a problem when the team makes offseason roster decisions.
Harbaugh says he'd like for McGahee to stay in Baltimore, but the 28-year-old might be the highest paid backup running back in the league. The Ravens may ask McGahee to take a pay cut, though he'd certainly refuse.

Willis McGahee is due $3.6 million next season.
It's a lot of cash to pay a backup running back, even for a guy that scored 14 touchdowns in 2009. As he cleaned out his locker Sunday, McGahee said he is aware that he could be released, but isn't worried about it. McGahee knows he'd draw significant interest on the open market. The Ravens may even consider paying his price tag thanks to the uncapped year.

Willis McGahee was held to seven yards on two rushing attempts and added one reception for seven yards against the Colts in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
McGahee replaced Ray Rice on the first drive when the Ravens got inside the Colts' 10-yard line, but Baltimore never returned to the red zone until late in the game. A potential cap casualty this offseason, the 28-year-old's fresh legs could earn him a long look from RB-needy teams in 2010.

Willis McGahee ran for 62 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries and caught a 13-yard pass in the Ravens' Wild Card round win.
McGahee's 21 touches were more than he had all regular season, and made possible by Baltimore's monster early lead. He is playing well, but Ray Rice and LeRon McClain got goal-line work in the first quarter. McGahee scored from three yards out in the fourth, though it was essentially "garbage time."
