Chris Henry had chronic brain damage at the time of his death, according to scientists affiliated with West Virginia University.
Henry, who died after falling out of a truck driven by his fiancee last December, had football-related trauma in his brain, according to the report. Henry only played 55 NFL games at the relatively tame wide receiver position, so this raises the question about how players develop brain damage. We're not aware of any concussions confirmed by the Bengals during Henry's career.

Charlotte police confirmed that Bengals WR Chris Henry passed away Thursday morning.
Henry had been on life support since falling out of the back of a pickup truck following a domestic dispute with his fiancee Wednesday. Henry had a string of early-career arrests, but recently turned his life around after getting a second chance from the Bengals and commissioner Roger Goodell. When focused and eligible, Henry was one of the game's most dangerous deep threats and a red-zone beast, averaging 15.6 YPC for his career and scoring nine touchdowns on just 36 catches in his second season. The 26-year-old is survived by his fiancee Loleini Tonga and three children they were raising.
