 Tuomo Ruutu-C- HurricanesJan. 9 - 8:44 am et
Tuomo Ruutu will likely miss a couple of games after sustaining an undisclosed upper-body injury in a fight with Colorado's Darcy Tucker Friday night.
All we know about the injury is that it is not to Ruutu's hand. The fight Friday evening was inevitable as Ruutu had hit Tucker from behind in an October 23rd game leading to a three-game suspension for the Cane forward and a trip to the injured list with a concussion for Tucker. For those keeping score, Ruutu won a close decision in the bout. Reserve Ruutu for the time being.

Matt Duchene admitted to being a slow starter on Monday, in the midst of his current offensive dry spell.
"Seasons always go like this for me," Duchene said. "At the beginning of seasons, I start off pretty slow. I'm usually playing well, but the points are the last things to come. I'm just going to keep plugging away. I'm getting some nice chances and creating some nice plays, and they'll start going in." The Colorado rookie had six points in his first 10 games, but has collected just one goal in 10 games since then. The Avalanche will continue to use him in key situations though despite his struggles offensively, as he is projected to center a line between Darcy Tucker and Milan Hejduk on Tuesday night.
