Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com reports that Jaime Moyer (hernia, knee) believes he can be ready by the first week of the season.
Moyer has experienced a series of setbacks his surgically-repaired groin region, delaying surgery on his left knee. Despite Moyer's proclamation, general manager Ruben Amaro will try to find a low cost alternative among the remaining starters in free agency. It's possible that Moyer could be stuck in the bullpen again if Amaro uncovers a bargain.

Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. acknowledged Tuesday that Jamie Moyer (hernia, knee) probably won't be ready by Opening Day.
Moyer has made three hospital visits since September due to complications with his surgically-repaired groin region and must undergo left knee surgery at some point. "I would doubt that Jamie would be ready for opening day," Amaro said. "It's possible. If anybody can do it, Jamie can."

Jamie Moyer (hernia) has been in the hospital three times since September and must undergo left knee surgery before spring training.
Moyer's 47-year-old body might have finally caught up with him, but he's still hoping to be ready by the time pitchers and catchers report. "I've been feeling pretty good as of late," he said recently. "I feel like I'm coming along quite well. ... I've been pretty blessed to stay away from that kind of stuff. I guess it was my time." The veteran went 12-10 with a 4.94 ERA this year.

Scott Lauber of the Wilmington News Journal reports that Jamie Moyer will have arthroscopic surgery in January to repair a torn meniscus.
Moyer is literally the walking-wounded at this point. The 47-year-old southpaw was just released from a Philadelphia area hospital after undergoing surgery to have a small blood collection washed out. This, after having surgery to repair three torn tendons in his groin and lower abdomen in October. He's set to make $8 million next season.

Jamie Moyer (abdomen surgery) was released from the hospital Monday.

Jaime Moyer (abdomen surgery) is doing well after undergoing minor surgery to wash out a blood collection that may have been infected.
Moyer checked into Thomas Jefferson University Hospital on Tuesday with discomfort in his surgically-repaired groin/abdomen region. An MRI showed a small blood collection, which was washed out on Friday. "Jamie is doing very well," Phillies physician Michael Ciccotti said in a statement. "The surgery is not likely to impact his rehab schedule and is likely to have minimal impact on his spring training schedule." Moyer is likely to remain in the hospital through the weekend.

Jamie Moyer (abdomen surgery) is expected to spend the next several days in a Philadelphia hospital for "evaluation."
Moyer reported increasing discomfort in his surgically-repaired groin/abdomen region earlier this week. He's doing better now, but the crew at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital wants to ensure that everything is fine. "We're in the midst of evaluating him," said Dr. Michael Coccotti. "He's very comfortable. He's walking. He's up. He's doing his normal routine." At this point, the 47-year-old is expected to be fine for the start of spring training.

Scott Lauber of the Wilmington News Journal reports that Jamie Moyer (groin) will spend Thanksgiving in the hospital with complications related to his groin and abdominal surgery in October.
Moyer checked into Thomas Jefferson University Hospital on Tuesday night and may stay through the weekend to determine the cause, said team physician Dr. Michael Ciccotti. The 46-year-old southpaw experienced "increasing discomfort" last weekend, and was brought to Philadelphia to be re-examined by Dr. Bill Meyers, chief of general surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital. Moyer saw Meyers on Tuesday and remained in the hospital to undergo tests, including an MRI. This is the second setback following surgery, as Moyer was hospitalized in mid-October with a blood infection. Ciccotti said he is optimistic that Moyer will be ready for spring training.

Jamie Moyer has been diagnosed with a strained left groin.
Moyer hurt himself in the seventh inning while pitching in relief. Groin injuries tend to linger and are very susceptible to setbacks, so there's a good chance he won't be ready by the first round of the playoffs.

Despite the loss, the 46-year-old southpaw has really kicked it into gear in the second half, pitching to a 3.48 ERA.

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said Thursday that Jamie Moyer is likely to draw starts in each of the club's September doubleheaders.
The Phillies have a few makeup games on the schedule, one against New York and one against Florida. Moyer, who was 10-9 with a 5.47 ERA as a starter, has thrown six scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He'll be a safe play in NL-only leagues once those games arrive.

Jamie Moyer tossed six scoreless frames in relief as the Phillies defeated the Diamondbacks 5-1 on Tuesday night.
Moyer entered the game after a one-hour and five minute rain delay and was simply magnificent, allowing just two singles while fanning five and walking none. The 46-year-old southpaw leads the team with 11 victories out of the pen.

Jamie Moyer is "disheartened" about the team's decision to move him to the bullpen, but doesn't want to be a distraction.
"I'm really not happy with this decision that the Phillies have made," Moyer said. "I will take what they've asked me to do, but I'm not really excited about the decision that has been made. Ultimately, I'm a little disheartened because this past winter when I was negotiating with the Phillies this was a sore thumb, if you will, about this potentially happening." Moyer went on to suggest that he was misled by general manager Ruben Amaro Jr, who once assured him that a situation like this wouldn't happen. A team spokesperson said Amaro declined comment because he doesn't discuss contract negotiations.
