Nov. 5 - 12:59 am et
David Lee hit 9-of-17 shots on his way to 20 points, 19 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in Wednesday's loss to the Pacers.
Lee had 18 points in the first half, so his finishing line is actually a bit disappointing. He's picked up where he left off last season and looks like a solid center option the rest of the way.

David Lee made 13-of-17 field goals in Monday's victory, finishing with a team-high 28 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
Lee had just nine points and five rebounds in his last game, and it's nice to see him bounce back so quickly -- against a physical defender in Emeka Okafor, no less.

David Lee had 17 points, 18 rebounds, a steal and two blocks on 7-of-15 shooting in a double-overtime loss to the Bobcats.
Lee was awesome tonight, picking up right where he left off last season, and clearly dominated Tyson Chandler.

David Lee piled up 19 points, 16 rebounds and three assists in less than 30 minutes on Tuesday, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and 5-of-5 from the FT line.
Lee is a double-double machine and should at least come close to matching last season's impressive averages -- 16 points on 55% shooting, 11.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steal.

Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni has decided to skip morning shootarounds for home games this season.
Knicks players will instead arrive at MSG by 3:30 p.m. for a 7:30 tip-off. They will then prepare for that night's opponent and eat a pregame meal together. D'Antoni, never afraid to mix things up, described this as "a bit of an experiment."

David Lee had 20 points, 14 rebounds and zero blocks on 9-of-14 shooting in Friday's win.
This was a pretty typical line for Lee last season, and there's really no reason why he can't do it again. We just don't think he'll come close to matching last season's ridiculous total of 65 double-doubles this year.

Paul Pierce hit David Lee with an inadvertant elbow Friday that required five stitches above Lee's left eye.
Pierce went to Lee on the bench to apologize afterwards. Lee had 13 points and six boards in another start at center.

David Lee started at center in the Knicks first practices of the year on Tuesday.
He was joined by PG Chris Duhon, SG Wilson Chandler, SF Danilo Gallinari and PF Al Harrington. Expect Darko Milicic to compete for the starting center job, which would probably move Gallinari to the bench.

David Lee signed a one-year contract with the Knicks worth approximately $8 million dollars, including incentives tied to making the playoffs.
Lee led the league with 65 double-doubles last season and will be an unrestricted free agent a year from now.

The Knicks and David Lee have agreed on a one-year deal (worth up to $8 million with incentives) and his agent, Mark Bartelstein, believes it will be signed on Friday.
"We're on the verge of getting this done," Bartelstein said. "I believe David will sign the contract tomorrow." Lee may not have the explosive season he had last year, when he racked up a league-leading 65 double-doubles, but he should still be a fantasy value pick available between the fourth and sixth rounds in most drafts.

David Lee and Nate Robinson are both expected to sign one-year contracts with the Knicks in the coming days.
Lee is expected to get around $7 million, while Robinson will have to settle for the $2.9 million qualifying offer sheet. The team reports for training camp next Monday, so we should have closure on the FA front before long.

Sep. 4 - 11:58 am et
The Knicks are expected to offer David Lee a one-year contract shortly after Labor Day.
This doesn't mean that his signing is imminent, but Donnie Walsh said the Knicks can't work out a sign-and-trade and no team is likely to exceed New York's expected offer of $6 million to $8 million. The Knicks are intentionally limiting the deal to one year so that they may be major players in next year's free agency bonanza.

Donnie Walsh says he's confident that both David Lee and Nate Robinson will sign and play for the Knicks this season.
"Things are moving along," Walsh said Tuesday. "Nothing is imminent, but the talks have been good." Lee and Robinson are restricted free agents, and while they'll likely play for the Knicks this season, they could also be involved in a sign-and-trade deal at any time.

Hoopsworld.com says David Lee's camp is hesitant to sign a one-year contract because the Knicks could renounce his rights next season, eliminating his valuable Bird Rights.
The "Larry Bird exception" allows teams to exceed the salary cap to sign a player, a potentially lucrative exception in the NBA's current air-tight financial atmosphere. The Knicks are still exploring sign-and-trades for Lee, though there are few teams equipped to make such a deal.

The Knicks are still looking into a couple of sign-and-trade possibilities for restricted free agent David Lee.
Newsday speculates that Portland and Utah may both have interest, but Lee's status as a base-year-compensation player seriously complicates the finances of a sign-and-trade. If all else fails, Lee is prepared to negotiate a one-year deal and become an unrestricted FA next summer.

David Lee's agent would not rule out the possibility that his client could be unsigned heading into training camp.
A training camp holdout in the NBA? Lee's agent, Mark Bartelstein, must think this is the NFL. Barelstein denied rumors Lee had been offered a one-year deal for between $5 and $6 million and added that he would not accept the one-year qualifying offer of $2.5 million. Expect something to get done before camp, either a one-year agreement or a sign-and-trade.

David Lee said recently that he and the Knicks will "continue to work on a few sign-and-trade possibilities. Otherwise we'll continue to work on a one-year deal."
"We agreed on what I thought I was worth, so it's not a money issue," he said. "What it comes down to is they need their flexibility for the 2010 summer." Any sign-and-trade is complicated by the lack of teams with cap space and Lee's status as a base-year-compensation player. Lohud.com reports that he could receive a one-year deal worth "upwards of $9 million."

Restricted free agent David Lee's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said on Monday that negotiations with the Knicks are "nowhere new."
He described the Knicks as "willing to listen" as he continues to pursue sign-and-trade possibilities. The most likely outcome seems to be a one-year contract with New York, making Lee an unrestricted FA next summer. They also failed to come to terms with Bucks guard Ramon Sessions on Monday, but the two sides plan to talk again soon.

Free agent forward David Lee and Donnie Walsh met on Thursday, and while the meeting was said to be productive, still don't appear to be close to an agreement.
"It was a good meeting," agent Mark Bartlestein said. "Everyone needed to hear what everybody was coming from. But nothing was resolved." It's still anyone's guess where Lee lands this season, but he's not going to get more than a one-year offer from the Knicks.

The Bulls have had preliminary discussions about acquiring Carlos Boozer and David Lee, among others, according to Bulls.com.
The Knicks are reportedly unwilling to pull off a sign-and-trade for Lee and will match any offer in the "$8 million range," so it's unlikely he'll play for Chicago next season. The Jazz are holding out for the best possible deal for Boozer and it's possible he'll play out his final year in Utah, thus becoming an unrestricted free agent.
