Cody will sit out the game with the flu, giving fifth-round rookie Frank Okam the start against the league's leading rusher, Cedric Benson.

Texans agreed to terms with DT Shaun Cody on a three-year contract.
Cody, the No. 37 overall pick in 2005, never developed as a pocket pusher in Detroit, but is only 26 and has upside. He'll likely push Travis Johnson at nose tackle. At worst, Cody should help as a rotational run stopper.

Cody has the tools to be an effective three technique, but has never been productive. He might've worked out better had he been drafted into a 3-4 and taught to play end. If cut, Cody would likely be snapped up quickly.

Mike Williams is the only unsigned Lions rookie now. Cody, a USC standout, is the subject of a reality show currently airing on Spike TV in which he chooses his agent.

Lions traded up four spots to select USC DT/DE Shaun Cody with the 37th pick of the NFL Draft.
He projects as a defensive end on the Lions. A reliable presence, Cody is unlikely to an explosive player at the next level. There is a good chance he'll start though.
