Antonio Gates (probable, foot) practiced in full again on Friday.
Gates is certain to start Sunday against the Broncos. He's been getting Wednesday practices off to rest the foot he had surgery on prior to the 2008 season. Gates is a top-five fantasy tight end in all formats.

Antonio Gates (foot) returned to a full practice Thursday.
Gates was simply given a veteran day off Wednesday. He remains a TE1 this week even against a Broncos defense that has been tough on tight ends.

Antonio Gates says he is completely healthy after nagging injuries limited his play in 2008.
Gates says he takes Wednesdays off just to "maintain feeling great." He's averaging 7.1 yards after the catch this season while his career mark is 4.4. Additionally, this is the first time in his career he has had more than 49 receiving yards in nine straight games. There's no reason to think he will have any drop off down the stretch.

Antonio Gates caught seven passes for 78 yards in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
Gates took advantage of the Eagles' depleted linebacking corps and blown coverages. His seven catches were the most since he put up nine against the Steelers in Week 4. He's as consistent as they come at the tight end position heading into next week's game at Denver.

Antonio Gates (foot) missed Chargers practice on Wednesday.
Gates sometimes gets Wednesday practices off, but it's usually only as a precaution. He'll face an Eagles defense in Week 10 that's struggled to stop tight ends all season. Gates is the No. 5 TE in fantasy thus far.

Antonio Gates caught five passes for 67 yards in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Gates dropped two very catchable balls that would have made his game look a lot bigger. He remains one of the best and most consistent tight ends in the game and is on pace for 84 catches, 1,180 yards and four touchdowns. He'll be a top-three option against a Eagles' linebacking corps that struggles against the pass next week.

Antonio Gates (foot) was limited in Chargers practice Wednesday.
Gates has had foot issues before, but his "limited" participation was probably just an excuse to get him rest. He'll be an elite fantasy option Sunday against a Giants safety corps that can't stop anything over the middle.

Antonio Gates caught five passes for 55 yards against the Chiefs in Week 7.
Gates was pulled down at the 2-yard line after showing impressive after-the-catch ability on a tight-end screen. He almost had another score late in the game, but he couldn't reel in a pass low and behind him. Gates is already knocking on the door to 500 yards after six games.

Gates, the No. 4 overall fantasy tight end, also says he's as healthy as he's ever been after an injury-plagued 2008. "When you watch me play, you're watching me play healthy," Gates said. "You can tell," quarterback Philip Rivers added. "It's subtle — that explosion and swiftness is there."

Antonio Gates caught five passes for 78 yards in Sunday's loss to the Ravens.
The Chargers had a couple chances to throw fade routes near the goal-line to Gates but chose not to. Gates' biggest play of the day was a 37-yard gain to the two-yard line but he fumbled while trying to get into the end zone. Vincent Jackson recovered the fumble and the Chargers ended up settling for a field goal.

Antonio Gates caught five passes for 83 yards in Monday night's win in Oakland.
Gates was getting worked over for much of the night by Raiders safety Tyvon Branch, but made the most of his opportunities in the second half. Gates got open a couple times when the Raiders' linebackers were, for some reason, giving San Diego easy ten yard gains on their game-winning drive.

Antonio Gates is up to 263 pounds after committing to an offseason weight training program that has him looking "leaner and chiseled."
Never a workout fiend, Gates says he feels stronger, faster and more dominant. Gates is fully healthy and should find it easier to separate from defenders this year. His numbers should also benefit from not having to stay in to help out right tackle Jeromey Clary block as much as last season.
