Do not expect the St. Louis Blues to be active in the free agent market on Friday. The Blues have signed only one player in the last three years on opening day of free agency and that was Ty Conklin in 2009, not exactly the prize of the day. "You look to fill your holes," GM Doug Armstrong said. "You look at trying to improve your team and you use whatever assets you have available to try and improve it. What we're finding out now is that teams are making their decisions on their free agents a little bit like we did with David Backes." The Blues could be in the market for a backup goalie behind Jaroslav Halak and there are quite a few available. One should be around later in the summer and the Blues could get a good deal if they are patient. Stay tuned. Jul. 1 - 9:59 am et Source:St. Louis Post-Dispatch
