Former Colts president Bill Polian, currently an ESPN analyst, said on SportsCenter Thursday that he doesn't believe Notre Dame ILB Manti Te'o's draft stock has been affected yet by Wednesday's revelation that his once-allegedly deceased girlfriend was fake. "It's a situation. It's not a red flag," Polian said. "It's just a situation he's involved in. And there are probably, in the first round, 10-12 players every year who have these kinds of situations. Not quite as unique as this, but nonetheless important situations. ... The facts we right now know are Manti Te'o is a great football player. He's a first-round talent, no question about that. By all accounts, his career at Notre Dame was stellar in every way, on and off the field. And right now, we don't have any more information to base any judgments upon." Jan. 17 - 6:47 pm et |
