Asked about Cal redshirt junior WR Chad Hansen, Scout.com national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins said: "We blew it."
"I honestly think itís harder for a white wide receiver than it is a black quarterback to get recruited at a high level in this day and age," Biggins said. "Unless you have an extreme skill set that jumps out." Hansen wasn't a three- or four-star recruit out of Moorpark High in Ventura, Calif. No -- he was a no-star recruit with zero major college offers. "I donít know how we missed him," said Biggins. "It was a bad evaluation on our part." Nicknamed "The Llama" by teammates because of his laid-back nature, Hansen has come out of nowhere to post 59 catches for 770 yards and eight touchdown catches. "Just the way he walks around off the football field and the way he acts is similar to a llama," QB Davis Webb said. "And then on game day, heís a monster. Itís a light switch. He becomes the most competitive human on the face of the earth." Oct. 14 - 5:14 pm et
