Tiger Woods: Woods a co-leader at the TOUR Championship

    Tiger Woods - G - PGA - Sep. 20 - 5:49 pm et

Tiger Woods crafted a 4-under-par 33-33=66 in his opening round of the TOUR Championship, good for a share of the overnight lead with Justin Rose.
Woods sits atop the all-time money list at this tournament. At East Lake alone, he's chalked up a victory (2007) and four runner-up finishes. He executed smartly today, splitting 10 (of 14) fairways and hitting 13 greens in regulation. While he bogeyed two of the four holes where he failed to create a birdie opportunity, he absorbed them with a field-tying-high six birdies, including conversions from 21'4" at the second hole and a seven-yarder from the collar at 12. Woods entered the week ranked second in FedExCup points, so a win would secure his third FedExCup title. He hadn't advanced to the finale of the FedExCup Playoffs since 2009. Sep. 20 - 5:49 pm et
