Chris DiMarco: DiMarco goes low in the John Deere lid-lifter

    Chris DiMarco - G - PGA - Jul. 12 - 2:30 pm et

Chrs DiMarco carded a 5-under-par 32-34=66 in his opening round of the John Deere Classic, finishing two strokes off the clubhouse lead.
Now 43 years of age, DiMarco is trying to hang on and make headlines again. Unfortunately, he's sputtered all season and arrived at TPC Deere Run ranked 136th in FedExCup points. He was vintage today though, splitting 13 (of 14) fairways and hitting 13 greens in regulation. He parlayed the taut ball-striking with six birdies, including conversions of 14'7", 12'7" and 12'8" at the 10th, 11th and third holes, respectively. He also circled a zero-putt birdie from four yards off the green at 13. Jul. 12 - 2:30 pm et
