Zack Byrd: Zack Byrd gains entry into the U.S. Open

    Zack Byrd - G - PGA - Jun. 12 - 6:58 pm et

Zack Byrd was added to the field of this week's U.S. Open.
Byrd gained entry since Harrison Frazar won the FedEx St. Jude Classic. One berth remained open for the St. Jude champion if he earned an exemption for winning multiple times since last year's U.S. Open. Byrd was the first alternate from the New Jersey sectional qualifier last Monday. He is the 154th golfer in the field of 156. Gary Woodland is certain to gain entry once the Official World Golf Ranking is updated tonight. The top 50 in the latest edition will punch a ticket for Congressional; Woodland is currently 41st. That will leave one tee time to be determined. Jun. 12 - 6:58 pm et
