    Phil Mickelson: Mickelson (oblique) WDs during third round

    Phil Mickelson was forced to pull out of the Valero Texas Open during the third round with a strained oblique.
    NBC-TV's live coverage cut to a clip of Mickelson riding off the course and identified the oblique as the pulled muscle in question. He made the cut on the number with a birdie on his 36th hole on Friday evening, so he's been grinding hard all week. Beginning his day on the 10th hole, he was 1-over on his round through 10 holes. He walked off after splitting the fairway at the par-5 second hole. Today's round included two birdies and three bogeys. He is currently listed in the field for next week's Shell Houston Open, but keep a close eye on that. Lefty won't do anything to jeopardize his health with the Masters just two weeks away.
