Vijay Singh has withdrawn from next week's Chevron World Challenge and the Australian PGA on December 10-13 after having knee surgery on Wednesday. Singh reportedly suffered quite a bit of pain while in Japan for last week's Dunlop Phoenix, where he finished T-31. He then traveled to Los Angeles where he had floating cartilege removed from the joint. It was not reported on which knee the surgery was performed. On January 14, Singh had surgery on his right knee to repair a torn meniscus. It was the beginning of what would be one of his worst year's on the golf course. He will not play for the remainder of 2009. Nov. 28 - 6:02 pm et Source: PGATour.com.au |
