J.B. Holmes will have what is being described as a "non-life threatening" procedure on his brain early next week at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. This news chases Tim Rosaforte's original report 10 days ago that Holmes has Chiari Malformation, which explains why the golfer has been symptoms similar to those of vertigo. "They think it’s congenital and the procedure is very non-invasive," said Holmes' manager, Terry Reilly. "If everything goes according to schedule he could be hitting (golf) balls in a month." UPDATE: A few hours after relaying this news, Holmes was removed from the published field of this week's Barclays. He was to start the FedExCup Playoffs ranked 66th in points. His return to competition is TBD. Aug. 22 - 10:50 am et Source: GolfChannel.com |
