Paul Maholm: Pirates' Maholm shuts out Astros

    Paul Maholm - R - LA - Apr. 24 - 9:35 pm et

Paul Maholm's first career complete game was a three-hit shutout of the Astros on Tuesday night.
Maholm entered 0-2 with a 6.19 ERA in three starts. The southpaw faced just two batters over the minimum while throwing 99 pitches tonight. It's probably not a sign of things to come, but he can be a reliable fourth starter for the Pirates. NL-only leaguers -- especially those in strikeout leagues -- shouldn't rush to pick him up. Apr. 24 - 9:35 pm et
