Scott Lauber of the Wilmington News Journal reports that Jamie Moyer (groin) will spend Thanksgiving in the hospital with complications related to his groin and abdominal surgery in October. Moyer checked into Thomas Jefferson University Hospital on Tuesday night and may stay through the weekend to determine the cause, said team physician Dr. Michael Ciccotti. The 46-year-old southpaw experienced "increasing discomfort" last weekend, and was brought to Philadelphia to be re-examined by Dr. Bill Meyers, chief of general surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital. Moyer saw Meyers on Tuesday and remained in the hospital to undergo tests, including an MRI. This is the second setback following surgery, as Moyer was hospitalized in mid-October with a blood infection. Ciccotti said he is optimistic that Moyer will be ready for spring training.
