Gary Sheffield: Sheffield could be a perfect fit for Reds

    Gary Sheffield - OF - NYM - Jan. 28 - 12:44 pm et

Bob Nightengale of USA Today writes that free agent outfielder Gary Sheffield might be a perfect fit for the Reds.
There's nothing to suggest this is anything more than speculation on Nightengale's part, but interestingly he adds that Sheffield was on his way to the Diamondbacks before they inked Adam LaRoche earlier this month. Sheffield, 41, batted .276/.372/.451 with 10 home runs and 43 RBI with the Mets last season, but couldn't stay healthy enough to play in the field. Jan. 28 - 12:44 pm et
