Mets offered arbitration to RHP Roberto Hernandez and RHP Guillermo Mota; declined to offer arbitration to OF Cliff Floyd, INF Chris Woodward, LHP Darren Oliver and RHP Steve Trachsel. The Indians will likely go ahead and sign Hernandez anyway -- their first-round pick is protected and they're already going to be out a pick for signing David Dellucci. This will give the Mets the Indians' second-round pick and a supplemental first-rounder. The Phillies will receive the Indians' third-round pick, assuming that Cleveland doesn't signed any free agents ranked higher than Dellucci. As for Mota, there's a real chance he'll accept the offer, though his negotiating position would be weakened based on the 50-game suspension he'll serve next year.
