Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Yankees are "strategizing ways" to retain Johnny Damon, Hideki Matsui and Andy Pettitte. Damon and Pettitte are the most likely to return, but according to one team executive, they would like to retain all three. "No, I hope we can figure out a way to have them all back," said the source. According to Sherman, general manager Brian Cashman has yet to meet with his entire staff to formulate an offseason plan, but there is a feeling within the organization that the team needs to get younger and more athletic. Bringing back Matsui and his surgically-repaired knees would run counter to this school of thought. Nov. 10 - 10:38 am et Source:New York Post
