Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Yankees are close to signing Derek Lowe to a four-year deal worth between $68 and $72 million. However, the Phillies are apparently still in the mix, which could keep the Yankees from announcing the additions of both Lowe and CC Sabathia on the same day. Adding both starters would presumably take the Yankees out of the running for A.J.
