J.D. Drew explained the procedure on his left shoulder to Rod Bradford of WEEI.com. "I got that (cortisone) injection right before the playoffs, which helped a little bit but didn’t help a whole lot," Drew saide. "Then I went into the offseason and the last couple of weeks it’s just been wearing me out. Nagging, achy, and every time I reach across t grab something it was really weak. So I flew into Boston Wednesday to get an MRI to see what was going on." Drew was experiencing bone-on-bone irritation in the shoulder, causing bone spurs that ended up pinching his AC joint. Since rest or rehabilitation wouldn't remedy the shoulder, Drew elected to have surgery. The relatively minor procedure will cost him perhaps just one week of his offseason workouts. He expects to be ready for the start of spring training. Nov. 23 - 9:51 am et Source:WEEI.com
