According to ESPN's Jim Bowden, the Cardinals are still pursuing Carlos Beltran and a resolution is possible in the new few days. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported Saturday that Beltran was considering two and three-year options. The Cardinals, Blue Jays, Red Sox and Rays have all shown recent interest, but Toronto may not have the cash available if they, as rumored, won the bid for Yu Darvish, while Tampa Bay may not have the flexibility period. Boston is dealing with financial restrictions of its own, which has led most members of the media to peg the Cardinals as heavy favorites to land Beltran. The 34-year-old batted .300 with a .910 OPS, 22 home runs and 84 RBI in 142 games this past season between the Mets and Giants. He's thought to be seeking an average annual salary of $10 million or more. Dec. 18 - 6:52 pm et Source:Jim Bowden on Twitter
