Jason Marquis lost his Padres debut after allowing four runs -- two earned -- in six innings Thursday against the Giants. Marquis' own error led to the two unearned runs, so that was hardly a point in his favor. He did manage six strikeouts today, which are twice as many as he had in any of his seven starts with the Twins. Perhaps it bodes well for him having a smidgen of fantasy value in NL-only leagues this season. We definitely wouldn't suggest picking him up prior to the upcoming stretch of games against AL teams.
