Shin-Soo Choo has no plans to miss the 2011-12 seasons due to a military obligation in his native South Korea, reports MLB.com's Anthony Castrovince. "I try not to think about [the military obligation]," he said. South Korea requires men to serve two years by the time they turn 30. Choo turns 28 in July. He would receive an exemption from his country's government if he represented South Korea in the 2010 Asian Games and they won the gold medal. If he doesn't get the exemption, he has a backup plan, which he would not divulge. He batted .300 with an .883 OPS last season. Feb. 22 - 5:27 pm et Source:MLB.com
