The Mets are interested in free agent starter Ben Sheets, according to the New York Post. A source tells the paper that the club will pursue a group of second-tier starters while targeting the best starter on the market, John Lackey. Other starting pitchers that the Mets are believed to be looking at include Joel Pineiro, Jason Marquis and Randy Wolf.
