Joe Beimel tells the Denver Post that he is considering an offer from the Mets. "We've been talking to them for a good part of the offseason," said Bemiel. "I am still just being patient, waiting for the right deal." The Mets are still actively seeking another left-hander out of the pen behind workhorse Pedro Feliciano. Beimel, who turns 33 in April, tallied a 3.58 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 55 1/3 innings last season for the Nationals and Rockies.
